Omkarananda Jayanti Celebration,
on 25th December 2023

It is a practise in Omkarananda Ashram Himalayas to start the Omkarananda Jayanti Celebrations with the auspicious recitation of the Sundarkand Path in the early morning hours. The whole area of the Headquarters of Omkarananda Ashram Himalayas was resounding with the beautiful rendering of the Sundarkand, which took place in front of the nicely decorated Omkarananda-Hanuman Temple and was concluded with Arati.

The cultural programme in Honour of Sadgurudev Shri Paramahamsa Omkarananda Saraswati started with the lighting of Deepas by Mahant Shri Swami Vishveshwarananda Saraswati, President, Omkarananda Ashram Himalayas (left) and Shri Swami Sundarananda Saraswati, President, Karttikeya Ashram, Rishikesh.

The Master of Ceremonies, Prof. Dr. Apurvaa Trivedi, guided the audience through the whole programme.

Some of the bright and disciplined students of the Omkarananda Gayatri Ved Vidyalaya, the Gurukul of Omkarananda Ashram Himalayas, started their Vedic Recitations in Honour of Paramahamsa Omkarananda Saraswati with prayers to Lord Ganesha and the Guru. After that they chanted the "Agni Sooktam", from Shukla Yajurveda, 3rd Adhyaaya, Prathama Anuvaak.

Honourable Senior Citizens of Rishikesh rewarded the Vedic Students with gifts and Dakshina.

Guru-Bhakti-Ratna   Kumari Somashekhari expressed her Adorations to Sadgurudev Shri Paramahamsa Omkarananda Saraswati through Bharatanatyam Temple-Dances. Here one can see her in the pose of the "Golden Kamakshi" ("Bangaru Kamakshi"). Shri Kamakshi-Devi is the manifested form of Shri Lalita Maha-Tripurasundari on earth.

Kamakshi-Devi is "Tripurasundari", the most beautiful Goddess in all the three worlds.

Kamakshi-Devi has a face, which is radiant like the Full Moon.
The audience was deeply touched by the divine dance-performance
of Kumari Somashekhari.

While dancing, Kumari Somashekhari depicts "Ekambareshwara", Lord Shiva.

Professional musicians delighted the audience by lively Bhajans.

Shri Swami Satchidananda Saraswati, assisted by Shri Surendra Maharaj, was responsible to take care for the smooth and flawless functioning of the sound system.

Shri Abhishek Prabhakar, an Advocate and Devotee of Omkarananda Ashram Himalayas, rewarded the Main Musician and Katha Vachak Acharya, Shri Geetaram Chamoli, with a nice present.

Kumari Arpita, a student of Kumari Somashekhari, offered flowers to Gurudev and then performed a devotional dance, dedicated to Him.

Shrimati Shalini Rautela, Educationist, offered a gift and Dakshina to Kumari Arpita.

Shrimati Vandana Vaid, in her short speech, is praising the Authorities of Omkarananda Ashram Himalayas.

For her noble speech Shrimati Vandana Vaid was honoured by Kumari Somashekhari with a beautiful flower bouquet and a gift.

"Trimata Kautuvam", a powerful Bharatanatyam Temple-Dance, was performed by Kumari Somashekhari in Honour of her Sadgurudev Shri Paramahamsa Omkarananda Saraswati. The perfection of her Mudras and Footwork spoke for itself.

with the pose of "Parvati Parameshwari".

The President of Senior Citizens of Rishikesh (wearing spectacles), assisted by two important Members, spontaneously honoured Kumari Somashekhari with a lovely shawl, flower mala and flower bouquet.

The Chief-Guest of this event, H.H. Shri Swami Sundarananda Saraswati, President, Karttikeya Ashram, Rishikesh, expressed his deep Admiration for the outstanding works of Shri Paramahamsa Omkarananda Saraswati in the field of Education, Culture and Spirituality.

Dr. Mukesh Goyal, Director, Omkarananda Institute of Management & Technology (OIMT),
is honouring Shri Swami Sundarananda Saraswati for his brilliant speech.

The prominent Senior Educationist of Rishikesh and President, Omkarananda Saraswati Nilayam Inter-College (OSN) Management Committee, Shri I. D. Joshi, is praising the three direct Sannyasi Disciples of Shri Paramahamsa Omkarananda Saraswati, namely Shri Swami Vishveshwarananda, Shri Swami Satchidananda and Kumari Somashekhari, for fulfilling the Vision of their Gurudev with great dedication, devotion and hard work.

Shri P.C. Malhotra, a Devotee of Omkarananda Ashram Himalayas, gave a fiery speech in Honour of Sadgurudev Shri Paramahamsa Omkarananda Saraswati, which was very much appreciated by the audience.

H. H. Mahant Shri Swami Vishveshwarananda Saraswati, President, Omkarananda Ashram Himalayas, and appointed Successor of His Divinity Shri Paramahamsa Omkarananda Saraswati, emphasized in his speech, that all the great works of Omkarananda Ashram Himalayas in the field of Education and Spirituality are possible only by the Grace and Guidance of Shri Paramahamsa Omkarananda Saraswati.

Further Shri Swami Vishveshwarananda ji expressed his heartfelt Thanks to all active Participants, Volunteers, Devotees and Guests, who took part in this holy Function.

After Swami Vishveshwarananda's uplifting speech, Shri Ansar Husain Pasha, Advocate, Supreme Court of India, New Delhi (in white dress), and Shri Manoj Pandey, a Bank Officer and good-hearted Devotee from Dehradun, are happily honouring Swami ji with a shawl and a flower bouquet.
