Omkarananda Saraswati Nilayam Inter-College, Muni-ki-reti,
via Rishikesh, received 5-star rating and was awarded as the
best School with "Swacch Vidyalaya Puraskar - 2021-2022"

On 11th July 2022 an Award Ceremony was conducted at the District Institute of Education and Training, Tehri Garhwal, where Omkarananda Saraswati Nilayam Inter-College (OSN) was awarded the "Swacch Vidyalaya Puraskar" for the year 2021-22 for being the cleanest School in the entire District of Tehri Garhwal. The Swacch Vidyalaya Puraskar has been instituted by the Ministry of Education, Government of India, to recognize, inspire and celebrate Excellence in sanitation and hygiene practice in Schools. This Award is given to Schools that have undertaken significant steps towards fulfilling the mandate of the Swacch Vidyalaya Campaign.

1129 Schools had participated, out of which 34 Schools were chosen. 24 Schools were awarded in various sub-categories, and 8 Schools were given a five-star rating. Omkarananda Saraswati Nilayam Inter-College was chosen as the best School among those 8 Schools, which got a five-star rating. Omkarananda Saraswati Nilayam Inter-College received the highest honour as the "Cleanest School" in the Tehri District, as well as a ranking as an excellent School with an overall score of 90% and a five-Star rating. Chief Education Officer, Tehri District, Mr. L.M. Chamoli, presented to Mr. Rajiv Singh Rautela, Principal, Omkarananda Saraswati Nilayam Inter-College the Award and a Certificate for being the Cleanest School in the District.

On this occasion, Mr. Rajiv Singh Rautela expressed, in front of the Chief Education Officer and other Dignitaries, that this achievement is a result of the inspiration drawn from the principle of selfless service of the School's Founder, H.D. Paramahamsa Omkarananda Saraswati, and the heavenly environment of Omkarananda Ashram Himalayas, where cleanliness, purity and sanctity is maintained in each and every aspect of life.

On 15th July 2022 OSN Principal Shri Rajiv Singh Rautela visited the Omkarananda Ashram Headquarters, along with Dr. Apurvaa Trivedi, Dean Academics, OIMT and Jt. Secretary of the OSN School Management Committee, to share this achievement, and take Blessings from Mahant Shri Swami Vishveshwarananda Saraswati, President, Omkarananda Ashram Himalayas. He congratulated and thanked Mahant Shri Swami Vishveshwarananda Saraswati, General Secretary, Kumari Somashekhari and Treasurer, Swami Satchidananda for their constant support, guidance and commitment towards making Omkarananda Saraswati Nilayam Inter-College as one of the best Schools in the entire region.

Mahant Shri Swami Vishveshwarananda Saraswati and Kumari Somashekhari also congratulated Mr. Rajiv Singh Rautela and presented a token of appreciation to him, expressing their joy and satisfaction with the good work he is doing, to take Omkarananda Saraswati Nilayam to greater heights. Mahant Shri Swami Vishveshwarananda Saraswati highlighted the importance of hygiene and cleanliness by mentioning, that cleanliness is next to godliness.
