Special Puja, Hawana, Bhajans, Dance
by Kumari Somashekhari and Ganga-Arati in
Honour of Paramahamsa Omkarananda Saraswati,
at Omkarananda Gayatri Ved Vidyalaya,
on 31st December 2018

The Gurukul of Omkarananda Ashram Himalayas, Omkarananda Gayatri Ved Vidyalaya,
is situated at the Ganga, at such a breathtakingly beautiful, heavenly and divine place,
that it is an ideal and befitting location for the Conclusion of Omkarananda Mahotsava,
the grand 7-day Festival in Honour of Gurudev.

Priests of Omkarananda Ashram Himalayas had established a nice Altar with a Photo
of Gurudev Paramahamsa Omkarananda Saraswati – a divine Sight - enhanced by
the majestic flow of Mother Ganga in the background.

A wonderful Yajna was conducted in Honour of Gurudev, with the Recitation of the
"Shri Sadguru Omkarananda-Ashtottara-Shata-Namavali" (the 108 holy names of
Shri Paramahamsa Omkarananda Saraswati). The young Vedic students also took
part in the recitation.

In the background, surrounded by trees, one can see the beautiful building
Omkarananda Gayatri Sadan, which houses the Gurukul Omkarananda Gayatri Ved Vidyalaya, where over 30 young Brahmacharis live and study the Vedas. In the front one can see
the Students of this Gurukul, Priests, Ashramites, a few Devotees and Guests,
who have assembled for the concluding Function of Omkarananda Mahotsava 2018.

The Yajna in Honour of Gurudev Paramahamsa Omkarananda Saraswati
filled the whole environment with fragrance and divine vibrations.

Special Purnahuti by Shri Swami Vishveshwarananda Saraswati.

Shri I. D. Joshi, a Senior Educationist from Rishikesh and Member of OSN School-Management Committee, was the Master of Ceremony of this wonderful event. He greeted everybody
present and explained the special significance of this holy place at the Ganga.
Further Joshiji nicely guided the audience through the whole programme
with his extremely kind and encouraging words.

In Honour of her Sadgurudev Shri Paramahamsa Omkarananda Saraswati Kumari Somashekhari performed Bharatanatyam Temple-Dance items. Before each dance she offered
fresh and fragrant flowers to the Altar of Gurudev.

Not only the audience, but also Maa Ganga and Gurudev Swami Omkarananda witnessed
the divine Bharatanatyam dance-performance by Kumari Somashekhari on the
concluding day of Omkarananda Mahotsava 2018.

The students of Omkarananda Gayatri Ved Vidyalaya beautifully recited
Vaidika Mangalacharan from Shukla Yajurveda, accompanied by corresponding
Hand-Gestures. Since some of the senior students had completed their 7-year course
in this Gurukul, many new students, sitting in the first two front rows,
have recently joined this Gurukul. In spite of being beginners, they really
impressed with their excellent recitation.

Shri Ramesh Uniyal spread joy all around with his song in the local Garhwali language
on the Greatness of Paramahamsa Omkarananda Saraswati and His contribution to Education, including the Gurukul Omkarananda Gayatri Ved Vidyalaya.

Kumari Somashekhari performed a Bharatanatyam Temple-Dance, dedicated to
Divine Mother Shri Lalita Maha-Tripurasundari, Who resides peacefully on the Lion-Throne
and enchants the whole world with Her Divine Beauty, Sweetness, Power
and Wisdom – a most wonderful Art to worship Gurudev.

Shri D.K. Varshney, Senior Educationist, Rishikesh, and President of OSN and
OIMT Management Committees, was full of praise for the beautiful Gurukul
Omkarananda Gayatri Ved Vidyalaya, which was established by the Grace of
H.D. Paramahamsa Omkarananda Saraswati, under the able guidance of Shri Swami Vishveshwaranandaji. He appealed to the students to make good use of this golden
opportunity to live and study at such a heavenly and divine place. Further he drew
the attention of the audience to the fact, that so many Schools in very remote
Himalayan Hill areas, are supported since decades by Omkarananda Ashram Himalayas.
Varshneyji also highlighted the great services and sacrifices Shri Swami Vishveshwarananda
made in his life, in order to fulfil the Mission of his Gurudev
Shri Paramahamsa Omkarananda Saraswati.

Shri Shivkumar Malviya, Principal Omkarananda Gayatri Ved Vidyalaya (standing in the middle), honoured Swami Vishveshwarananda with a flower-garland and a shawl and expressed
his deep gratitude to Swamiji for his constant support and for providing the
most beautiful and auspicious place thinkable to the Vedic students of this Gurukul.

H.H. Shri Swami Vishveshwarananda Saraswati, President Omkarananda Ashram Himalayas, thanked all, who actively helped and took part in the Omkarananda Mahotsava 2018
Celebrations and thereby made them a great success. Swamiji further emphasized
the importance of Yajna. In his heart-touching humility Swami Vishveshwarananda gave
all the credit for everything extraordinary, beautiful and divine in
Omkarananda Ashram Himalayas, and the praise he gets for it, to
his adorable Gurudev Paramahamsa Omkarananda Saraswati.

Finally, a Devotee from Delhi, Shri P.C. Malhotra, expressed his admiration
for Swami Vishveshwarananda and his team and their tireless work to fulfil
the vision of their Gurudev Shri Paramahamsa Omkarananda Saraswati.

At sunset a special Arati was performed for Gurudev and Maa Ganga by Priests of
Omkarananda Ashram Himalayas, Students of Omkarananda Gayatri Ved Vidyalaya and others.

After that, Swami Vishveshwarananda, Kumari Somashekhari, all Students, Priests and

warm blankets as gifts for the wonderful Students of Omkarananda Gayatri Ved Vidyalaya.
