Maha-Shivaratri Celebrations
in Omkarananda
Ashram Himalayas, on 24th February 2017
Shri Swami Vishveshwarananda Saraswati,
President of Omkarananda Ashram Himalayas, can be seen at the
Mandara-Tree with its beautiful flowers, on 24th February 2017,
the holy time of Maha-Shivaratri.
The Mandara Flowers look like golden
orange-red fire-flames, and they are very dear to Lord Shiva.
Guru-Bhakti-Ratna Kumari Somashekhari had
collected - before sun-set - a beautiful Mandara Flower from
the tree, which she is going to offer to her Sadgurudev Shri
Paramahamsa Omkarananda Saraswati and to Lord Shiva, before
starting her Temple-Dance performance.
Ashramites and Devotees had assembled for
the Evening-Arati in Omkarananda-Kamakshi-Devi Mandir.
As a part of the Maha-Shivaratri
Celebrations in Omkarananda Ashram Himalayas, Kumari Somashekhari
performed several Bharatanatyam Temple-Dances in Honour of Lord
Shiva.
Shri G. Sukumar read out the meaning of the
dances, which Somashekhari was going to perform on this
occasion.
On the holy night of Maha-Shivaratri Kumari
Somashekhari performed Temple-Dances, full of dedication,
spiritual Grace and Joy, which was acknowledged by a strong
applause from the audience.
4-year old Arpita Bhardwaj was honoured by
Kumari Somashekhari with a flower-mala for performing a short
spontaneous dance for Lord Shiva.
Shri Swami Vishveshwarananda Saraswati
blessed all with his heart-touching words of divine Wisdom, on
the Holy Night of Maha-Shivaratri.
On behalf of all Ashramites and Devotees,
Shri Swami Pragyananda Saraswati came forward to honour Shri
Swami Vishveshwarananda Saraswati with a flower-mala, as a way
of expressing Thanks and Gratitude to Swamiji.
Note: One of the Temple-dances, performed by Kumari Somashekhari
on this occasion, along with a short glimpse of Swami
Vishveshwaranandaji's words of Divine Blessings, can be seen in
