World Yoga Conference
on 7th November 2009
The 2nd World Yoga Conference, organised by
Yoga Alliance International with the motto "Celebrating Yoga", was
held in Vanaprashta Ashram on the holy river Ganges under the able
guidance of Shri Swami Vidyananda and his assistants. Swami
Vidyananda is a renowned Yoga Master and the Founder of
Transformational Yoga, a new Yogic system that synthesizes all
Yogic techniques.

The Yoga group consisting of different people
from different countries together with Swami Vidyananda started
the function with a Yagna. The Yagna was held in
Omkarananda-Kamakshi-Devi Mandir along with Suresh Panditji and
his priests.
Thereafter the function continued in
Vanaprashta Ashram with the meeting of different spiritual
leaders. The Chief Guests of this event was Shri Swami
Vishveshwarananda, President of Omkarananda Ashram Himalayas.
Among the guests of honour were Kumari Somashekhari, Usha Devi and
Swamjjis and Yoga-experts from other Ashrams. Swami Vidyananda
introduced the dignitaries on the dais.
Kumari Somashekhari started the function in
Vanaprashta Ashram with the recitation of Vedic Shlokas. Shri
Swami Vishveshwarananda, President, Omkarananda Ashram Himalayas,
spoke about the immense value of a Yogic life in respect of
spiritual progress, health and for a better being.
Usha Devi was requested to explain about her
experiences. She recited a prayer to Lord Patanjali.
In the end the Chief Guest, Shri Swami
Vishveshwarananda, Kumari Somashekhari, Usha Mataji and other
honourable guests were honoured with nice mementos (gifts).
