Swami Satchidananda of Omkarananda Ashram Himalayas,

The Senior Citizens' Welfare Organisation of Rishikesh, under the leadership of Mr. Varshney, President, honoured in a grand function, on 22nd November 2009, Swami Vishveshwarananda, President, Kumari Somashekhari, General Secretary, and Swami Satchidananda, Treasurer, of Omkarananda Ashram Himalayas, for their outstanding works in the field of education, culture and spiritual activities on behalf of their Gurudev Paramahamsa Omkarananda Saraswati.

The function started with great pomp and show when a band received them and accompanied them to the lecture hall. The hall was packed full with Senior Citizens, who specially came to attend the function. With multimedia and projectors the work of Omkarananda Ashram Himalayas was shown by OIMT Teachers and commented by Shri I.D. Joshi.

Before the final ceremonial honour took place, a beautiful dance performance and a Yoga demonstration in a grand way were shown to the public.

Then all the three Sannyasis were requested to come to the dais and honourable Mr. Varshney, the President of Senior Citizens Welfare Organisation, spoke in an elaborate way of the great works done by Paramahamsa Omkarananda Saraswati through the three disciples, Swami Vishveshwarananda, Kumari Somashekhari and Swami Satchidananda. Later on important personalities from the field of education gave their own comments of the wonderful works done by Omkarananda Ashram Himalayas.

All the three Sannyasis were honoured with a shawl, flower malas and different kinds of gifts. Swami Vishveshwarananda and Kumari Somashekhari thanked the Senior Citizens and especially the President Mr. Varshney for their generous contributions and finally a great Bhandara took place, on the side of Omkarananda-Kamakshi-Devi Mandir, for all the participating Senior Citizens of Rishikesh.
