Foundation Day Celebration of
Omkarananda Saraswati Nilayam Inter-College

Colourful dance-presentations by the students made the 27th Foundation Day of Omkarananda Saraswati Nilayam very lively and joyous

With the Blessings of H.D. Paramahamsa Shri Swami Omkarananda the 27th Foundation year of this Inter-College was celebrated on 1st December 2009.

The School was founded by Shri Swami Omkarananda on 1st December 1983, under the able guidance of Swami Vishveshwarananda and able administration of Mrs. R.P. D'Souza. Last year we celebrated the completion of the 25th Foundation year of the School with great pomp and show. Keeping the spirits high we celebrated this year's Foundation Day with great zeal.

The President of the Omkarananda Charitable Trust, Swami Vishveshwaranandaji Maharaj, graced the occasion by being the Chief Guest for the day, accompanied by other Ashramites and members of the Managing Committee.

The days programme commenced with the lighting of the lamp by Swami Vishveshwaranandaji Maharaj, invoking the blessings of Shri Paramahamsa Swami Omkarananda.

Guru Vandana, "Jai Swami Omkarananda…", written and composed by our music teacher, Mrs. Sujata Banerjee, was performed by the school choir, followed by Devi Vandana, "Namastestu…".

The Tiny-tots of Class Nursery and Kindergarten performed a very vibrant and energetic Qawali "School ka rasta bhool gaye…"

Describing the beautiful greenery of the earth, the students performed a melodious group song "Hari-bhari Vasundhara…"

The students of class VI-VIII performed a Punjabi dance, "Tille Wali Milade…" expressing their happiness.

Release of the beautiful OSN School Magazine "Prayatnasheel" by Swami Vishveshwarananda

The year's much awaited event was the release of the Annual School Magazine, Prayatnasheel. Swami Vishveshwaranandaji Maharaj released the School Magazine. He congratulated the Editorial Board, comprising of Dr. Quaylee Chakravorty, Mrs. Archana Gairola, Mrs. S. Dhaka, Mrs. Alka Rakwal, Miss Fauzia Anwar, Mrs. Neelam Sharma, Miss Ayushi Gupta, Miss Gargi Gairola, Miss Vaneesha Kandari and Master Parikshit Singh Rawat.

After this, a choreography and a group song titled "Is duniya mein tum sab milkar…" was performed by the students.

Swami Vishveshwaranandaji Maharaj, in his speech, appreciated the efforts and hard work of all the members of Omkarananda Saraswati Nilayam, blessed the students and asked them to work for the development of not only their school but also for the society and nation at large.

The Principal of the Inter-College, Col. (Retd.) D.L. Sachdeva, thanked Swamiji and all the reverend guests and the parents for sparing their valuable time and boosting the morale of the students by being present on the occasion.
