Guru-Purnima Celebration,
in Omkarananda Ashram Himalayas, on 7th July 2009

In the morning of 7th July 2009, Guru Purnima, a special Guru-Puj was performed for Sadgurudev H.D. Shri Paramahamsa Omkarananda Saraswati, by His Successor, H.H. Shri Swami Vishveshwarananda, President of Omkarananda Ashram Himalayas, Shri Swami Satchidananda, Treasurer, and Kumari Somashekhari, General Secretary, with the assistance of the Omkarananda Ashram Priests.

Abhishekam was done for Swami Omkaranandaji's silver-padukas with deep devotion and flowers and Bilva-leaves were offered on them along with Mantra-Recitation and the Recitation of the Shri-Sadguru-Omkarananda-Ashtottara-Shata-Namavalih (Garland of the 108 Names of the most venerable Sadguru Swami Omkarananda, the Teacher of Truth). After the completion of Abhishekam and Pujas, the Omkarananda Arati was performed for Gurudev Shri Swami Omkaranandaji.

On this specially holy occasion an Omkarananda Ashram Panditji was initiated into Shri Vidya by Shri Swami Vishveshwaranandaji, assisted by Suresh Panditji, Sanjay and Mukesh Panditji. The new Pandit, Mahesh Panditji, was initiated in an elaborate ceremony and given Mantra-Diksha by Swami Vishveshwarananda. On the request of the Priests, Swami Vishveshwaranandaji blessed the Priests with a few divine, inspiring and heart-touching words.
