Traditional Welcome of the Chief Guest, Dr. Koperdekar, by the Students of OIMT

The 11th Foundation Day of OIMT on September 7th 2009 was celebrated in a grand manner. The special invitee to the great day was Dr. Koperdekar, Former Director of Welinker Institute of Management and Research, Mumbai.

Dr. Koperdekar, Swami Vishveshwarananda Saraswati, President of Omkarananda Saraswati Charitable Trust, Kumari Somashekhari, General Secretary, and Swami Narasimhulu were received by the girl-students, wearing beautiful Sarees, welcoming all in the traditional way, with flowers, deepas and applying of Tilak.

After offering floral tributes to Gurudev Paramahamsa Omkarananda Saraswati, Dr. Koperdekar, the Chief Guest of the function, was requested by Shri Swami Vishveshwaranandaji to share a glimpse of his vast experience with the students and lecturers of OIMT, so that all of them could be benefitted by his great knowledge in the field of management. Dr. Koperdekar gave very valuable advices to the students and also expressed his deep reverence to the Founder President of this Institute, H.D. Shri Swami Omkarananda, and also to His Successor Shri Swami Vishveshwarananda for Their immense contribution to Education and Spirituality in the Garhwal Himalayas.
Shri Swami Vishveshwarananda thanked Dr. Koperdekar for accepting the invitation and urged the students to learn from his teachings. Swamiji also requested the students to imbibe the values of discipline and cleanliness in their lives, along with the required study-curriculum.

Kumari Somashekhari, in her short speech in Hindi, expressed Her Gratitude to Gurudev Shri Swami Omkarananda. Then the students requested Kumari Somashekhari for a Garhwali song and the entire audience was spellbound with her song.

The other dignitaries who spoke were Dr. Ms Agarwal, Director OIMT, who appealed to the students for utmost discipline and punctuality. Further Shri M.S. Negi, Secretary OIMT and Shri S.S. Negi, President OIMT, addressed the audience.

The programme ended with a lot of cultural events, followed by lunch.
